What does this announcement mean?
As of today, Irish Life Group has acquired Aviva Health and GloHealth. This is simply confirmation of the planned agreement that was announced in March of this year. From today, a significant new force in the health insurance market has been created and will shortly be called Irish Life Health.
Is Irish Life Health my new health insurer as of today?
Aviva Health will be re-branding to Irish Life Health over the next month or so. For now, we will continue to trade as Aviva Health and it is very much business as usual. We will be in touch directly with you closer to the time of the company re-branding.
Who is the new Irish Life Health CEO?
Jim Dowdall will be the Managing Director of Irish Life Health.
What impact does this announcement have on you?
There is no impact on you, your policy or any other policy member. Everything remains the same.
Is my health cover still in place?
Yes, your health policy stays the same and you don’t need to take any action.
Will my policy number change?
No, your policy number is the same number.
Is my member card still valid?
Yes, your Aviva Health membership card can be used in all outlets.
Will my plan name change?
No, your plan remains the same plan you are covered for today.
Will my premium remain the same?
Yes, your current policy premium is not affected by this change.
How will my claims be paid?

You can contact our team in Cork directly on 1890 717 717 and we will assist you in making any changes you require, or you can make changes in your Member Area.
Does this affect my relationship with my broker?
No. We will continue to work with our Broker partners, and there will be no change as a result of this announcement.
How do I check my cover?
The same process applies here as always. If you are due to go into hospital you can call us with your consultant’s name, procedure code and the name of the hospital you will receive the treatment in and we can confirm your eligibility to claim. How will I know of any other changes that impact on my policy?
There will be no change to your policy terms and conditions as a result of this announcement today.
